Muncie Apartment Living: September 2018
Welcome to this month's edition of Muncie Apartment Living, brought to you by The Haven, our apartments for rent in Muncie, Indiana. This month we're bringing our residents suggestions for celebrating National Chicken Month and National Better Breakfast Month, topics surrounding upcoming holidays like International Literacy Day and National Cheeseburger Day, restaurants in the area, and movies you might want to check out like The Predator and Peppermint. Read on to learn more about these topics in today's blog post.
National Chicken Month
How do you plan to celebrate National Chicken Month? We suggest trying out some chicken recipes this month in celebration of National Chicken Day. Chicken is one of the leaner meats that still provides you with a lot of protein and other nutrients, and tastes delicious. Depending on the type of marination or cooking method, chicken can be a diverse protein to spice up any of your meals! Check out some recipes from the Food Network for your next September meal!
National Better Breakfast MonthDo you eat breakfast? September is National Better Breakfast Month so we suggest getting started on a good habit of eating better breakfasts! Eating breakfast is known to aid in helping people have a lower BMI, helping children perform better at school, and sets you on a better path to eating better throughout the day. Mornings can be a rush, but we encourage everyone to take time to prepare themselves a good breakfast for their health’s sake.
Mancino’s Grinders & Pizza
Have you ever been to Mancino’s Grinders & Pizza? From the website: “At Mancino's, every dish is created to order using only the freshest, finest ingredients. We bake fresh bread for the grinders on a daily basis. We hand toss every pizza and use only fresh toppings. Mancino's is proud of its long tradition of serving Muncie's pizza lovers. Located on Bethel across from Fairfield Inn and just South of Rural King.” Mancino’s is about 9 minutes from The Haven. Check it out for some delicious pizza and grinders!
Sitara Indian Cuisine
Serving up vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, Sitara Indian Cuisine is a great place to go for a nice dinner. Open from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM for lunch and 5 PM to 9 PM on weekdays and 9:30 PM on weekends, you can get your fill of Indian food at the most convenient time. If you’ve never had Indian cuisine before, we suggest giving it a try and expanding your palate a little. Sitara is about 7 minutes from The Haven.
International Literacy Day — September 8th
How will you be spending International Literacy Day this year? We suggest heading to a local bookstore to pick up books you’ve been wanting to read, the library to borrow some books, or volunteering at schools or libraries to aid children in reading. Take advantage of this day to be thankful that you are able to read and write and how literacy has improved your quality of life. If you aren’t able to volunteer, you can consider donating old books and writing materials to your local charity for the good of those who will use it.
National Cheeseburger Day — September 18th
As an American classic, the cheeseburger can be found at multiple restaurants and fast food chains all over Muncie. Head out and grab a cheeseburger to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day, or check out some of All Recipes’ cheeseburger recipes!
We suggest going to see The Predator this month. It comes out in theaters on Friday, September 14.
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
Beginning Friday, September 7, Peppermint plays in theaters.
“Riley North awakens from a coma after surviving a brutal attack that killed her husband and daughter. When the system shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerrilla. Channeling frustration into motivation, the young widow spends years in hiding -- honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force. Eluding the underworld, the police and the FBI, Riley embarks on a deadly quest to deliver her own personal brand of punishment.”
