Muncie Apartment Living: June 2018
Welcome to this month's edition of Muncie Apartment Living, brought to you by The Haven, our apartments for rent in Muncie, Indiana. This month we're bringing our residents suggestions for celebrating National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month and National Candy Month, topics surrounding upcoming holidays like Father's Day and National Donut Day, and movies you might want to check out this month. Read on to learn more about these topics in today's blog post.
National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month
Have you visited The Downtown Farm Stand, a local farmer's market? Check it out this month to celebrate National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month. From their website: “Our groceries are sourced from quality independent manufacturers concerned about upholding organic standards. We carry fresh organic produce, our meat and dairy products are from animals that are sustainable, pastured, hormone and antibiotic free, and grass fed. Our bulk section lets you as little or as much as you want from our selections of flours, grains, nuts and granolas.”
During the summer, the chances you'll be able to find fresh produce is high. It's always a good choice to make the healthier choices when looking for recipes, so try to find recipes that incorporate fresh vegetables for your main course and fruits for your summer desserts!
National Candy Month
How do you plan to celebrate National Candy Month? We suggest visiting Lowery's Homemade Candies, our local candy shop. Check it out today! Enjoy some of Lowery's delicious homemade candies, with an assortment of sweet treat cremes and fudges, and even some with nuts, chewies, and cherries. During National Candy Month, remember to partake of these sweets in moderation and to not overindulge. Lowery’s Homemade Candies is about 10 minutes from The Haven. Happy National Candy Month!
Will you be visiting home to celebrate Father’s Day this year? There are many ways to show your appreciation for the man who raised you. If you live away from him and can’t make it out to visit, at least give him a call to express your love and appreciation. Another way you can celebrate Father’s day is by surprising him with a gift that he needs! Ask your mother or someone close to your father what he’s been wanting, then get it for him. Father’s Day does not need to be an elaborate occasion, but rather a day to show your father how much you care and are grateful for the things he’s done for you.
National Donut Day
Will you be visiting Jack's Donuts to celebrate National Donut Day this year? From their website: “For three generations since 1961, Jack’s Donuts has been making donuts and rolls that have kept customers lining up at the door for treats like tiger tails, caramel nut rolls, and applesauce donuts. April 2011 marked 50 years for Jack’s and current CEO and grandson of Founder Jack Marcum, Sr. took over the business.”
Head into Jack’s Donuts for your donut fix and see what this establishment has to offer!
